Ensure you 'remove natural makeup properly'
Many of us ladies will have come in after a night out and forgotten to remove our natural makeup, thinking that doing so will not do us any harm.
However, a warning about makeup removal has been given by Nick Atkins, an ambassador for Rohto Dry Eye Relief, who said that if we fail to take off beauty products we could be risking our precious peepers.
He said: "Failure to remove makeup properly, [del comma] can block the glands in the eyelids, responsible for the production of lipids that make up the oily surface layer of the tear film."
Mr Atkins pointed out that this layer stops the watery component of tears from evaporating and eyes from becoming dry and sore.
He also said that we should regularly change our mascara to avoid bacterial infections.
Furthermore, a recent study by Rohto Dry Eye Relief found that 19 per cent of people had applied eye makeup despite their peepers being scratchy or sore.
