Expert claims less is more when applying shimmering shadow
Ladies looking to sparkle this festive season thanks to their new natural makeup may want to take one expert's advice on how to use bold shades but still look sophisticated.
In an interview with the Belfast Telegraph's fashionista section, Nars' creative director and founder Francois Nars explained how Christmas is the perfect time of year to "explore new colours".
When applying shimmering eyeshadow, women were encouraged to opt for metallic bronze and lavender shades.
Mr Nars advised: "Be light-handed when you're doing makeup. It's not about the quantity, it's about the quality and how you apply it. Less is more!"
Those keen to try out a bold pout were encouraged to consider applying a fuchsia or pink shade for a "strong impact".
Alice Hart-Davis, beauty journalist and creator of goodthingsbeauty.com, recommended a trial and error method as the easiest way to find the perfect lipstick shade to flatter skin tones.
