Expert tips for festive glamour without the glitz
Fans of natural cosmetics may be pleased to hear they do not have to reach for glittery products in order to embrace this season's beauty trends.
In an interview with the New York Times, makeup artist James Kaliardos described how the latest look is all about channelling old-school glamour.
"It's the idea you can go rock 'n' roll for holiday and not always be glitter-crazed," he stated.
The expert recommended using minimal powder on the face so skin is practically bare and instead focusing on key features.
A bold red lip teamed with strong eyes was described by Mr Kaliardos as a great way to achieve a look reminiscent of Debbie Harry in her heyday.
He encouraged ladies to opt for grey and blue shades placed on the upper eyelid and under the lash line.
Nicky Hambleton-Jones of themakeoverqueen.co.uk recently commented how smudge-proof products are a wise choice when attending an event such as an office Christmas party.
