Expert warns to be wary of harmful chemicals in cosmetics
Ladies may be inspired to use organic cosmetics after hearing how some chemicals found in makeup can be hazardous to health.
In an interview with NBC News, Dr Kimball Silverton of the Silverton Skin Institute described how a number of ingredients have been found to have cancer-causing properties.
Meanwhile, reproductive challenges and allergies can also be experienced if an individual comes into regular contact with a product.
However, it was noted that in the majority of cases, chemicals found in cosmetics are most harmful if ingested rather than applied to the skin.
Dr Silverton commented that not enough research has been carried out to give a definitive guide as to whether repeatedly using makeup can be dangerous, but individuals should be aware of the potential and use items in moderation.
The remarks come after EcoSalon writer Kristen Arnett recently urged ladies to move away from traditional products and use organic goods.
