How to create vintage natural makeup
If you're looking for a simple addition to your natural makeup bag that will make waves when you use it, look to Maggie Gyllenhaal's plum eye.
The star of Batman and Crazy Heart recently attended the NYC premiere of her latest film Nanny McPhee Returns and used a deep plum eyeliner to emphasise those pale and haunting eyes.
In fact her whole look would fit well into the vintage category, especially with her waved bob and dark lipstick, and more importantly, this could be a trend that's perfect for natural makeup fans.
The Hollywood Life blog spoke to her makeup artist, Molly Stern, who explained that she was "inspired by the beauties of the 1920s and 30s".
"We combined the smoky eye with an added electric element and a deeply-stained lip," she said.
To get this timeless look, apply some purple eyeshadow to the eyelid and line near the lashes with brown liner and then run a purple liner along the bottom lashes.
Top this off with some coats of brown mascara and add a little black mascara to the tips to elongate them.
