Metallic natural eye shadow 'the starting point for 70s glam'
The best way to inject 70s glamour into your style is by using metallic natural eye shadow, an expert has suggested.
According to makeup artist Sarah Jagger, fashion-savvy ladies should seek out shimmering shades in "copper, gunmetal or dull gold" to base their cosmetic look around.
"Follow with a charcoal cream eye shadow ... ground into the crease and under the lower lashes too," she suggested.
"Team with a soft coral lipstick ... and keep the blush to a minimum - if anything," Ms Jagger added.
There are no end of examples of celebrities working the latest 1970s-inspired look, with Elle Macpherson, Cheryl Cole and Sarah Jessica Parker all choosing to release their inner Studio 54 diva with ensembles over the last few weeks.
Along with on-trend eye shadows, ladies should go with big, bouffant hair to really work the trend, meaning that mousse and a good backcombing brush will be your best friends this summer.
