Natural body care: Marc Jacobs uses theatrical makeup
Fans of natural skin care who want to stay on the cutting edge of makeup could be interested in the latest catwalk trend which may be destined to make its way onto the high street.
According to the New York Times the expressive style was first seen in a show by respected fashion designer Marc Jacobs.
Jacobs' makeup artist Francois Nars said that the style took inspiration from the choreographer and dancer Martha Graham, who had distinctive eyebrows.
Speaking about the cool style, Ms Nars said: "Think of a ballerina offstage, but with her makeup still on, looking slightly imperfect."
Black lips were also used in the show, which goes against the norm in summer shows where the dark colour is not usually prevalent.
Red lips are another look which has been predicted to be big this autumn after actresses like Scarlett Johansson and Sienna Miller sported the flamboyant pouts.
