Natural lipstick 'should make a statement'
Autumn is all about making a statement it seems, whether in natural haircare, where the 50s bouffant and chignons rule, on eyes where Bridget Bardot lashes are what's hot - or lips, where bold is better.
When it comes to natural lipstick, this premise is truer than ever, as Amy Lawrenson, writing for Elle, has explained that statement lips have now been embraced by the A-listers too.
The expert asserted that this trend has come in many guises of late, with stars such as Carey Mulligan and Blake Lively vouching for one colour and others opting for something equally attention grabbing but a different shade altogether.
"Bang on trend are Leighton Meester and Anna Friel who have been spotted puckering up to a berry lip colour; both have layered with gloss and teamed with lashings of mascara," Ms Lawrenson stated.
However, she did note that the neon trend from summer is also showing no signs of disappearing, with Pixie Lott and Jessica Lowndes opting for hot pink, however this may mean we can kiss goodbye the luminous shades of blue and green.
