Natural makeup trends: Red lips
Sometimes your natural makeup routine just needs a splash of colour, particularly if you've been rocking the nude trend for some time - and the answer is in the form of red lips, according to the beauty gurus.
The Stir blog has reported that celebrities such as Gwen Stefani are doing their bit to remind us why the bold-lipped look is such an eternal favourite - no matter what the season or the year.
Makeup artist Kristin Gallegos told the news provider that both the Proenza Schouler and Givenchy shows worked the style with pale, matte faces.
"But ... the focus was on the lip. It was a very defined, dark wine or blood-red lip. It's a strong look for the season that really makes a statement!" she asserted.
Ms Gallegos told natural makeup fans that, when it comes to getting a picture-perfect pout, the colour should be matched to a slightly darker lip liner - and to use concealer as a base so the lips "pop".
Christina Aguilera once admitted that putting on her statement red lipstick was the first thing she did in the morning and the last thing she removed at night.
