Natural skin care: Messy makeup is a big look
Fans of natural skin care who want to stay on trend this autumn season need to use messy makeup, according to one newspaper which said it is the in thing.
The London Evening Standard reported that the rebellion against airbrushed beauty has begun and a more natural style is winning the makeup battle.
It said that celebrities such as Lily Allen and Anne Hathaway have brought the smudgy eyes and frayed lips look into the public eye.
Makeup expert Paul Herrington told the newspaper: "We're saying goodbye to the precise makeup of old and going for an edgier, slightly worn look."
He added that the distressed makeup look is not about perfection and is in fact more about being wearable.
Martha Kepner, a health and beauty reporter for Examiner.com, recently said that using products such as oil-free eye makeup removers can help to create a look of natural beauty.
