Organic cosmetics: Don't keep makeup beyond its prime
How long has your natural mascara been lingering at the bottom of your vanity case? What about that gorgeous natural lipstick that you can't find in the shops now?
If you can't say exactly, it probably means that you've been keeping your organic cosmetics for far too long - and that can be bad for your skin and your health.
Andrea Manitsas told Organic Authority readers that getting rid of your old products is an important part of your skin care routine.
Ms Manitsas said that it was particularly important to keep on top of organic cosmetics, as they do not contain many of the preservatives of standard makeup.
She advised: "If your makeup has any sort of strange smell, it's past its prime. Problems that might arise from clinging to old makeup include infections from bacteria or germs and just plain old lack of efficacy."
Last month, Josienita Borlongan told readers of modernmom.com that organic cosmetics can be easier to apply as well as nutrient rich.
