Purple said to be key winter trend
Ladies looking to invest in natural cosmetics may be interested to hear that purple shades are the latest trend.
This is according to Norwich Evening News writer Emma Harrowing, who looked at the autumn/winter 2011 fashions from beauty houses such as Dior and Yves Saint Laurent.
It was noted that tones from violet to magenta can be seen in the "majority of new makeup palettes".
"Beauty has gone a shade of purple for autumn as berry colours reign supreme in the latest eye makeup collections," Ms Harrowing stated.
To create a "wearable look", women were advised to stick to the traditional rule of a smoky eye or strong lips, rather than a combination of the two.
Ms Harrowing commented that this season's trends include a winged line around the eyes complete with a dusting of purple shadow, as well as a polished, neutral appearance.
Elsewhere, freelance beauty editor of Kiss and Makeuptv Zara Stone Rabinowicz recently remarked that elaborate eyes and bold brows are set to see a comeback in spring.
