Red natural lipstick is makeup's LBD
If you're stuck on what shade natural lipstick to invest in, look no further – for fashionistas and stylists the world over, red is the colour no woman should be without.
Amy Ma, writing for the Wall Street Journal, said that red lipstick is the natural makeup world's 'little black dress' - and should always be close at hand in case of a beauty emergency.
Makeup artist Janice Lam told readers that as classic as the colour is, there are a few precautions to take with red lipstick to make sure your lips look flawless.
Lip liner should be used to stop the colour from bleeding, but be sure to fill the whole lip with the liner before slicking over your favourite hue, she said.
Then there's the choice of matte or gloss. Ms Lam advised: "Matte reds are more elegant and stylish, while a slick glossy red lip is the epitome of sexiness."
Earlier this month, makeup artist Jill McKay told natural makeup fans that statement lips can work with skin tone, so long as the hue is right for your complexion.
