Take natural makeup risks to discover a new you
Are you guilty of investing in a gorgeous, bold emerald natural eye shadow and then letting it go to waste in favour of a more demure taupe colour?
If that's you, it's time to overhaul your natural makeup look, an expert has suggested.
Mel Arter, backstage stylist for designers Maria Grachvogel and Mark Fast, said that people often stick to safe choices for fear of the unknown.
"It's really common – I can count on one hand the people I know who genuinely vary their makeup and go for strong and bold looks," Ms Arter told Stylist. "It's a confidence thing – it's about breaking through our safety barriers."
A good way to experiment is to change one aspect of your usual routine, such as trying citrus shades for your natural lipstick and eye shadow, or swapping your black organic eyeliner for navy blue.
Yesterday, Amber McNaught from beauty blog Hey-dollface.com suggested that the right red natural lip colour can create an instantly polished effect.
