Tea could be key in fight against tumours
Fans of organic skin care who want to look after themselves and prevent getting tumours should drink five cups of tea a day, according to a new study, which suggests the drink could starve the growths of the oxygen they need to develop.
The study was published in the Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention journal and looked into how the drinking habits of glioma patients affected their tumours progress.
"When they compared their caffeine-drinking habits to patients without brain tumours, they found that those who drank five or more teas or coffees a day were 40 per cent less likely to have cancer," the Daily Mail stated.
In the study, decaffeinated tea and coffee did not have the same positive effects.
Sian Porter, dietician and spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association, recently said that most people are unaware that most foods consumed already contain the recommended amount of salt.
