Use metallic natural eye shadow in a nod to the 1970s
Fashion is all about retro at the moment – but while last year was all '60s sophistication, this spring's natural makeup trends see the arrival of disco!
If you're looking for the ideal complement to your halter-neck jumpsuit and platform peep-toe sandals, add some metallic natural eye shadow to invoke the spirit of the 1970s.
Stylist suggested: "Take your lead from [the] Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2011 show, which featured eyes set off with metallic pewter and gold and lips coated with a vinyl-like berry gloss."
The writer added that light, iridescent textures are better than full-on glitter, while those brave enough to dress up both their peepers and their pout should keep it subtle and playful.
Last week, Hollywood Life reported that Nicole Richie gave a glamorous nod to the decade with finger-dried wavy hair and natural eye shadow in lavender, plum and amethyst.
