Coconut oil described as great for moisturising skin and hair
Ladies may want to invest in moisturiser that contains coconut oil as it has been described as "great" for hair and skin.
Creator of GoodThingsBeauty.com Alice Hart-Davis described how it is "more beneficial if used on the outside of the body", rather than taken internally.
She claimed individuals need plenty of essential fatty acids to keep healthy and coconut oil is high in lauric acid, which is a saturated fatty acid.
Saturated fats tend to be something many people avoid, so instead of eating coconut oil, women may prefer to use it on their skin.
Meanwhile, eating oily fish was noted by Ms Hart-Davis as a good way to have essential fatty acids.
Expert dermatologist from expertbeauty.com Dr Helen Robertshaw recently commented that moisturising the skin is important during the winter months as cold weather and indoor heating can dry out the face.
She recommended avoiding soap and using a hydrating product as an alternative.
