Dermatologist gives natural skin care advice
With autumn (and then winter) not too far away it’s important that us ladies not only change our wardrobes, but also our natural skin care regimes to keep us looking lovely.
Luckily, advice on how to treat our skin has been offered by Dr Adam Geyer, Kiehl’s consulting dermatological expert, who told Australian Vogue that when temperatures drop we should start using thicker creams instead of lightweight lotions.
Dr Geyer said: “Remember, the hierarchy of hydration goes gel, lotion, cream, oil and then ointment.”
In addition, he advised us to take slightly cooler showers and baths in winter and to apply a moisturiser to legs, hands and arms after a wash if you tend to get dry skin.
He pointed out that it’s effective to put moisturiser on dry skin as water from the shower will also be utilised.
During winter you might also want to try using exfoliating products on your body to get rid of dry skin.
