Expert explains importance of moisturising in winter
Moisturiser has been described by one beauty expert as a vital component of a winter skin protection regime.
Owner of Eden Boutique Jennifer Hansen told the Des Moines Register how it is important to keep hands and face well nourished as the weather turns colder.
She recommended using a product that contains a low SPF protection on the face as UV rays can damage the skin even in winter.
Meanwhile, hands need special attention as they have "fewer oil glands than other parts of the body" and are regularly exposed to harsh conditions.
Carrying a lip balm was advised to keep a pout looking healthy, while drinking plenty of water was suggested as a good way of keeping the body "glowing and skin happy".
Elle magazine recommends a weekly body scrub and exfoliation session in order to remove dead skin cells and keep skin looking in top condition.
