Faking is safer for pale-skinned people

Faking is safer for pale-skinned people Fans of natural skin care should use fake tan rather than sunbeds to get a sun-kissed look, according to one expert who said people who use the beds are risking contracting cancer.

Rebecca Freeman press officer at the British Association of Dermatologists, said that faking it is far safer than using tanning beds after research released by the International Agency for Research on Cancer declared that sunbeds are definitively "carcinogenic to humans".

She said: "Self tanning products are safe for your skin, effective and easy to use and are therefore the ideal alternative to sunbathing...if you're naturally pale skinned and desperate to look bronzed, it is best to fake it."

The dermatologist added that self tanning products are safe for skin as well as effective and because of this are an ideal alternative to sunbathing.

In other fake tan news, celebrity Rachel Stevens has recently spoken to the Sun about the benefits of using less fake tan and embracing a natural beauty look.
