Health foods can boost beauty
Eating healthy foods has been described as a form of natural skin care, due to the benefits that can be derived from consuming vitamin-enriched products.
Writing for the Huffington Post Stylelist, Kimberly Snyder explained that certain vegetables can boost the appearance of skin, as well as keep individuals slim and fit.
Red peppers were noted as being rich in vitamins A and C, which are antioxidants that can help transform skin and enhance beauty.
In addition, they can boost energy levels and contain lycopene, which is thought to lower cancer risks.
Meanwhile, cucumber was recommended by Ms Snyder as it is packed with nutrients and is also hydrating.
She described how the vegetable has long been use as a "beauty aid that's full of the mineral silicon, which will make your hair shiny and nails strong".
Elsewhere, Joy McCarthy recently explained in a separate article for the Huffington Post the health benefits of consuming goji berries as they too are rich in antioxidants.
