Is "chemical-free" skin care a load of rubbish?
We've put the term "chemical-free" in quotes because it has been dreamt up by advertising & marketing gurus to convince us that when we buy something natural & organic that it is actually chemical-free when in truth it is not. Everything around us is made from chemicals: the grass growing in your garden and the hair growing on your head is made up of complex sets of chemicals.
At mypure when we talk about "chemical-free" we mean products made from naturally occurring chemicals such as rosehip oil or almond oil or any of the thousands of naturally occurring ingredients which can be used safely in "chemical-free" cosmetics. All the products we sell at mypure are free from synthetic chemicals with dubious safety records. In fact all of the products we sell are put through a thorough vetting process called the mypure promise to weed out any suspect products.
The Royal Society of Chemistry have had enough of "chemical-free" claims on products ranging from skin care, food and even fertilisers. So to expose the myth they've come up with this competition: £1 million for anyone who can make a 100% chemical-free product. Think about it ;-)
