Keep skincare routines simple
Dermatologists have advised women to follow natural skincare routines and keep their cleansing habits simple.
Karen Nern of Vail Dermatology in Edwards and Basalt, Colorado, told USA Today that people do not need a host of products in order to keep their face fresh.
She stated that many pre and post-face-washing items tend to be a waste of money and some women "can do too much with too many products and irritate their skin".
It was suggested that items to be used on the face should not contain fragrance, deodorant, antiseptics or additives.
"It's really best, for skin, to keep it simple," dermatologist Meryl Blecker Joerg of Advanced Dermatology and the Center for Laser and Cosmetic Surgery remarked.
A routine of washing the face with a gentle soap and warm water was recommended, followed by an application of moisturiser.
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, celebrity makeup artist Kayleen McAdams described how healthy, moisturised skin is the key to ensuring foundation and eye shadow stay in place.
