Ladies given cleanser, moisturiser advice
Many of us focus on applying makeup but give less thought to cleanser and moisturiser, and the part these items should play in our daily skin care routine.
Louise Thomas-Minns, skin and beauty therapist and founder of Uandyourskin.co.uk, stressed that before we start putting on the beauty products we should make sure that our skin is cleansed properly.
"I always recommend a double cleanse, then apply a non-oily hydrator and leave it at least five minutes before commencing with your make up application," she said.
In addition, she said that if you've got dry skin you should carry out these instructions but use an oil-based, heavier moisturiser beforehand.
As well as this, you might wish to follow cleansing with exfoliating to lift off dead skin cells.
Last month Ms Minns also said that those looking to fight the ageing process should think about prevention and use a sort of "environmental shield" on a daily basis.
