Lipstick 'is the stiletto of makeup'
Fans of natural skin care who want to create a dramatic look through their makeup need to utilise lipstick, according to one expert.
Terry Barber, a makeup expert told the Daily Mail that "red lipstick is the stiletto heel of makeup" and Linda Wells, editor in chief of Allure magazine, also sang the praises of the product.
She told the newspaper: "Pure red lipstick is as classic as a Chanel suit. There are women who would not wear anything else. But it also carries a certain responsibility with it."
Wearing red lipstick is a bold statement though, according to the newspaper, which said that if women do use the stand-out colour they need to get their style right.
The newspaper said that exfoliating lips thoroughly and choosing the correct shade of lipstick is crucial to pulling off the look.
OK! magazine recently said that buying new lipstick is one of the cheapest ways to alter your look and improve your mood, when it unveiled its summer beauty tips.
