Make natural moisturiser your winter best friend
Winter can take its toll on your complexion, with blustery winds and bitterly-cold rain meaning that a thorough natural skin care routine is essential.
If you're battling against dry skin, an expert has said that you should make natural moisturiser your new best friend.
Lynn Yoffee from Everydayhealth.com said that you may need to apply softening creams and lotions more frequently than usual.
In terms of which moisturiser you should choose, dermatologist Susan C Taylor MD, from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in New York, recommended products which contain ceramides – natural lipid molecules that contain fatty acids.
"Ceramides have a natural moisturizing factor. If you add ceramide to lotions and cleansers, you replace them in the skin. That's the newest twist on moisturisers," she explained.
Last week, makeup artist Christi Rantis told ABC 7 Chicago that anyone jetting off on holiday for some winter sun should make sure that they use plenty of natural sunblock, to protect against skin damage.
