Moisturiser 'especially important in winter'
Applying natural moisturiser is one of the best ways to keep skin hydrated during the harsh winter months.
This is according to Kimberley Carter of the British Association of Dermatologists, who explained how "all skin types" benefit from using such products.
It was noted that individuals who suffer from eczema often find their skin becomes worse if it dries out when the weather turns colder.
As a result, Ms Carter urged people to protect their face and body if it is regularly exposed to the elements.
"If you suffer with a dry skin condition, make an extra effort to slap on plenty of moisturiser/emollient, especially after a shower or bath," the expert stated.
Using lip salves was also recommended in order to keep pouts looking healthy and hydrated.
Dermatologist at expertbeauty.com Dr Helen Robertshaw recently stated that skin should be protected by sunscreen even in winter, as ultraviolet rays can still cause damage.
