Natural beauty: Eczema cream might be bad for skin
Fans of organic skin care products using a certain type of eczema cream could be making their condition worse, according to one dermatologist.
Dr Tony Bewley, who is a consultant dermatologist at Whipps Cross and Barts hospital in London, told the Daily Mail that aqueous cream was original prescribed as an alternative to soap and can dry out skin.
Simon Golding, founder of mypure, recommends using an unscented product packed with natural oils and skin nourishing ingredients such the A'kin Unscented Body Moist or the Barefoot Botanicals S.O.S Rescue Me Face & Body Cream.
The doctor added that because the cream does not actually contain moisturiser it cannot help the condition and people might want to look for an organic alternative.
In other news, the Vancouver Sun reported that dry skin and chapped lips are often caused by very cold winds and it advised people to protect their pouts with products containing sun protection factors.
