Natural beauty needs a summer clean
Fans of organic skin care need to change their beauty regime when the summer months come along, according to one expert.
Allure's beauty news editor Alyssa Kolsky Hertzig told Good Housekeeping magazine about the benefits of switching to products which provide protection against sun damage.
She said: "For a bit of extra protection, consider this new option: cleansers with leave-behind sunscreen that clings to your skin when you wash."
Applying natural beauty products to areas of the body which are not usually exposed to the sun was also recommended by the editor, who said the chest is more susceptible to sun damage then the face and needs extra protection.
Lips also need special attention according to the natural beauty expert, who said lip balm with added sun protection is a good way to stop sun damage around the mouth.
Makeup artist Sebastien Tardif recently told Vogue about the importance of using a radiant colour on lips this summer season because it is an essential look.
