Natural beauty needs to be seen on catwalks
Fans of natural skin care need to see more healthy-looking models on the world's catwalks, according to one expert, who said at the moment they are getting thinner.
The Guardian's Kira Cochrane stated that apart from a couple of shows by designers like Louis Vuitton and Prada, models were "skinny" and "skeletal".
"Then came the latest round of autumn/winter ready-to-wear shows, which ended in Paris last week. Jutting collarbones weren't just easy to spot; they were almost ubiquitous," she reported.
The writer added that some of the models' arms looked fragile and "as snappable as a bird wing stripped of feathers".
She also said that after a spate of larger-sized women, like Beth Ditto and Crystal Renn, appearing on the cover of fashion magazines, it is disappointing to see the return to super-skinny models.
Monica Bellucci, Sophie Marceau and Eva Herzigova recently appeared on the cover of French Elle with little or no makeup as the trio showed their support for natural beauty.
