Natural skin care is important for good-looking makeup
Without good natural skin care the application of makeup products can be very difficult, according to a pair of experts, who said that the surface of the skin needs to be cared for.
Canadian makeup artist Karen Malcolm and Nazila Zokai, a medical esthetician at Q Esthetics Laser Clinic in Toronto, told the Montreal Gazette that looking after skin is just as important as choosing the right cosmetics.
"Makeup is only as good as the skin you put it on. It's important to think skin care first and makeup a close second," Ms Malcolm said.
Ms Zokai added: "Products can only do so much. They work on the skin's surface."
The newspaper stated that it is surprisingly easy to look your best without airbrushing or a personal makeup artist with many over-the-counter beauty products helping disguise imperfections.
ELLE UK reported that it is important to moisturise all areas of the body before applying products such as fake tan, to make sure that there are no streaky patches caused by dryness.
