Natural skin care: Is tanning out of fashion?
Tanning is one of those beauty treatments that we all love to indulge in now and again, especially when it gets to summer season, however, women have been told that the latest natural makeup look is all about pale.
Gone are the days when natural skin care involved the sunbed and a perma-tan orange glow, and, according to numerous beauty experts, scrapping the sunbeds is no longer just about looking after your health.
Grazia's beauty director Annabel Jones explained that "au-tan" (looking pale but healthy) is all the rage.
"It's no longer cool to look like you've just jetted back from a five-star jaunt in the sun. More like you've had a good night's sleep and are glowing from within," she said.
Heat editor Sam Delaney echoed these sentiments to the Guardian, stating: "There's something more dignified about staying pasty when you live in northern Europe."
If you need inspiration to veer away from the dazzling lights of the sunbed or the fake tan bottle, look to Nicola Roberts or Dita Von Teese for ways to make pale a little more interesting.
