Natural skin care: Olive oil could be 'perfect moisturiser'
Fans of natural skin care could soon be using olive oil as an alternative moisturiser, according to one expert who said the product is great for skin.
Beauty journalist Jenn Brockman told Examiner.com that using olive oil and olive oil-based products could soon become a viable alternative for fans of natural beauty products who want to keep skin hydrated and counteract the harmful effects of the sun.
"With studies showing that topically applying olive oil directly after sun exposure decreases the number of skin cancer in mice, you can bet that what the Greeks have known for centuries is being used in modern day skin care."
The beauty writer specifically recommended using extra virgin olive oil because it has the highest amount of antioxidants in it and has not lost the beneficial elements through multiple presses.
Ecologist's health and beauty journalist Laura Sevier recently recommended using olive oil as a beauty product when she endorsed natural skin care.
