Natural skin care products can be great exfoliants
Natural skin care products which use sugar cane can be a very effective exfoliant, according to one expert, who said the cosmetics can wake you up in the morning.
Jenn Brockman told Examiner.com that sugar cane works as a natural acid and its rough texture makes it perfect for removing old skin and stimulating new growth.
She said: "Sugar cane is a natural glycolic acid, which is an extremely effective natural chemical exfoliant ... Dead skin cells build up on the surface and create a dull, lifeless appearance and inhibit treatments from being fully absorbed."
The natural beauty writer added that coffee and citrus juice can also be effective ingredients for fans of natural skin care who want to avoid using chemical-based products.
Meanwhile, beauty expert Liz Earle recently told the Telegraph that natural skin care products which contain minerals are very effective forms of sun protection that begin working the minute they are applied.
