Natural skincare 'perfect for combating winter skin problems'
Natural skincare is the only way to go when it comes to dealing with winter skin complaints, one expert has suggested.
Writing for The Stir, Maressa Brown highlighted that the winter weather causes havoc with skin, especially on the face.
Blotchy red cheeks, which are caused by the vastly different temperatures between indoors and outdoors, and dry skin are two common complaints which emerge when the icy weather bites.
But, people shouldn't turn straight to the cosmetics counter to combat the problems.
Ms Brown said:"I believe that just about everything we need for our health can be found in nature - not from a laboratory."
Moisturisers containing plants and herbs were recommended for nourishing dry skin and ladies were advised to try a specialist exfoliating product for dry lips.
To supplement any natural skincare regime, ladies should take care not to wash their faces with hot water, as this will dry skin out even further, the Press and Journal recommended recently.
