Natural sunblock 'essential for healthy looking skin'
Healthy skin is something we'd all like – and you can give your complexion a helping hand by using natural sunblock and eating a nutritious diet.
Sally Penford, education manager for the International Dermal Institute, said that the number one priority for anyone regarding the health of their skin should be protecting it from sun exposure.
She explained: "My number one skin care tip would be sunscreen because most of the ageing that we see in the skin is caused by UV exposure. So, if I were to recommend one skin care product it would definitely be a sunscreen product."
In addition, Ms Penford said that much of the things "we know that are bad for us", such as alcohol and coffee, will affect our complexion.
However, the expert added indulgences are fine as long as at least 80 per cent of the time you're eating a diet rich in fruit and vegetables and drinking lots of water.
Earlier this week, the Independent reported that Dr Diane Berson told the American Academy of Dermatology's annual meeting that a simple natural skin care routine can help sufferers of acne and rosacea.
