Natural sunblock should be used to stop skin damage
An expert has urged people to take care of their skin with natural sunblock, arguing that getting burnt and sustaining serious skin damage can always be prevented.
Bevis Man from the British Skin Foundation explained that people need to be vigilant and committed to sun protection even when staying in the UK.
This summer has been anticipated to be one of the warmest seen in Britain, after April was the driest and hottest experienced since records began.
Mr Man said: "Getting sunburnt isn't something people should allow to happen, either to themselves or loved ones ... The fact that the skin is burnt is a sign that the skin is badly damaged, and what’s more, it massively increases the risk of developing skin cancer later on in life."
Last month, charity Cancer Research UK revealed that cases of malignant melanoma had jumped significantly in recent years, highlighting the need for better sun protection practices.
