Organic skin care: Consumers will reject unnatural products

Organic skin care: Consumers will reject unnatural products The new year will see more consumers turning their back on makeup products which are chemical-based and unnatural, according to one expert, who said the trend will be similar to the backlash against fast food.

UTalkMarketing.com's Cheryl Swanson stated that the current publicity of eco-friendly practices which protect the environment will influence fans of natural skin care products to reject chemical-based alternatives.

She said: "The consumer pushback that began with tobacco and, more recently has focused on fast foods, will soon be aimed at leading cosmetics companies and faux organic/natural lines as consumers realise their potentially harmful impact on body and environment."

The expert warned companies that paraben-free items are going to be in demand, while petroleum and other chemical "baddies" will not impress makeup buyers.

In other news, Jenn Brockman told Examiner.com that sugar cane works as a natural acid and its rough texture makes it perfect for removing old skin and stimulating the growth of new cells.
