Research finds winter ages women by 5 years
New research may inspire women to use natural eye cream after it was found winter makes ladies look almost five years older.
Scientists at Adonia Organics conducted assessments of 5,000 faces during all four seasons and concluded dark circles were prevalent in the colder months of the year.
As the days grow shorter, 82 per cent showed signs of rings around their eyes, while only 38 per cent did so in summer.
It was suggested this could be down to lower levels of vitamin D being absorbed by the body, which leads to increased tiredness.
''More science is coming out linking the lack of Vitamin D and K as one of the causes that plagues us with dark circles and puffy eyes," anti-ageing expert Dr Mark Binette stated.
In a recent article for MSNBC dermatologist Dr Jeanine Downie commented how eating foods containing minerals and antioxidants can boost the appearance of skin in winter.
