Stick to natural skin care: Botox too soon 'can make you look old'
A thorough natural skin care routine is essential at any age, but as a girl and young woman, it is the best way to protect against premature ageing.
While cosmetic treatments have surged in popularity, it has been suggested that many who undergo the procedures at a young age are actually doing more damage than good.
Recently, it was widely reported that a mother in the US admitted to giving her eight-year-old daughter Botox injections in order to give her the edge in beauty pageants, although she has since claimed that it was a hoax.
Nevertheless, as Darren McKeown told Daily Telegraph readers, there is a concerning trend for teen Botox, which advocates claim will stop ageing later in life.
However, he explained: "There is no evidence that in the long term Botox works as a preventative, nor is there any licence to use it as such ... it is important to remember that this is a prescription-only medication, with long-term implications for facial development."
