Strawberries 'have natural skin care properties'
Strawberries have natural skin care properties to minimise age spots, one expert has said.
Kate Somerville, who was once described as Hollywood's hottest facialist by Allure, explained to San Francisco news provider SFGate.com that the fruit shares one beautifying effect with asprin.
"Strawberry juice contains natural skin lighteners that brightens spots over time," the specialist stated, instructing readers on how to prepare the treatment for themselves.
The fruit should be cut in half lenghthwise and rubbed in small circles on the face, while aspirin needs to be mashed with a spoon and a small amount of water before being applied.
For both treatments, people should leave the mixture on their skin for a few minutes before rinsing it off, Ms Somerville advised.
Nutritionist and author Suzi Grant recently recommended sourcing food locally to get fruit and vegetables packed with more vitamins and minerals than less fresh produce.
