Organic skin care 'helps avoid harmful chemicals'
Using organic skin care products can help individuals to reduce the number of chemicals their body comes into contact with.
This is according to founder of 100% Organics Angela Young, who described in an interview with the Huddersfield Daily Examiner how natural goods are healthier.
"Our body absorbs all of the products that we put on our skin and it really matters what's in them," she stated, adding that a chemical-free regime can boost the appearance of skin.
Ms Young explained how she discovered that her flare-ups were due to the ingredients found in everyday products and since switching to organic skin care goods they have reduced significantly.
It was suggested that using natural cosmetics is a "good place" to start and creams that claim to have a higher percentage of organic compounds are best.
Individuals were encouraged to avoid items containing nano-particles, phthalates and petrochemicals.
Phthalates are used in rubber products, adhesives and to soften PVC plastic, as well as featuring in some cosmetics.
